Giving a Hand to the Red Cross for the people of Ukraine

The Cause & Our Impact

On March 13th, 2022, the Bulgarian Red Cross organized a convoy with humanitarian aid for Ukraine in the form of first-aid supplies, sanitary materials and baby packages, purchased and donated by KPMG IT Service OOD employees for the total amount of 47 000 BGN/ 24 000 EUR, collected through a large-scale internal donation campaign involving more than 250 employees and matched by the Company 1:1.

On March 25th, 2022 we organized a social gathering at KPMG ITS Office with Ukrainian families accommodated with KPMG ITS and KPMG Bulgaria colleagues, including representatives of local NGOs such as Bulgarian Red Cross and Open doors for Ukraine. We also supported a local Refugee Crisis Center – Gorata.bg in the city of Pernik with donation of electric heater for renovation of adjusted living space.

We continue to work on different streams and aid various initiatives aimed at providing psychological, social and integration support for Ukrainian refugees. We are now actively looking for employment opportunities and career fast-track to professionals within the IT ecosystem with us and our partner companies.

We have joined the KPMG EMA Crisis Center Initiative in order to coordinate at a local level. Personal impressions of the initiative organizers: Through these initiatives, we gained the opportunity to witness firsthand the devastating consequences of the ongoing war and remind ourselves the value of everyday life and how one’s world can change with the blink of an eye. We heard different stories that enriched us and provided another perspective on how we can collaborate and help each other.
