Better home for Mariana and the young people she cares for

In early 2025, our CSR Club identified a meaningful opportunity to partner with the “S usmivka napred” Foundation (which translates to “Moving forward with a smile”) to support the renovation of Mariana Pencheva’s home. Mariana is an extraordinary woman who has opened her heart and home to 10 children and young adults from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The foundation’s mission is to help her create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where these young people can thrive.

KPMG IT Service proudly supported the first phase of the renovation, which was completed by the end of August 2025. Two children’s rooms received new tile flooring, fresh paint, and brand-new furniture – including beds, cabinets, and mattresses. The young residents even joined in the renovation efforts, adding their own energy and spirit to the transformation.

The project is still underway, with many exciting improvements ahead. Next steps include updating the flooring in the kitchen and hallway, purchasing new kitchen appliances and furniture, and repairing or replacing both interior and exterior doors. Plans also include enclosing the terrace and installing new blinds to make the space even more comfortable.

The “S usmivka napred” Foundation expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support received so far. Contributions from partners like KPMG IT Service have helped bring the project to life and make meaningful progress toward creating a better home for Mariana and the young people she cares for.
